This post has been a long time coming! We’ve been absent from social media and our blog for a while now. As you will all understand life can get crazy with unexpected challenges and sometimes its necessary to step away and focus on what’s right in front of you. But we are now back and excited to finally share this shoot we did in Summer which marked a monumental change in our lives – a change that was 5 years in the making. Whilst we are always grateful for the challenges life brings and the lessons that are learnt along the way, we are so ready for the positive shift. We did this shoot to mark the occasion. We couldn’t have found a more perfect location or had a more stunning sunset. Omaha Beach is truly beautiful and captures New Zealand’s essence. It was quite an overwhelming moment for us and to be surrounded by such natural beauty was breath-taking. It also was a happy coincidence that our Asos dresses matched the sunset perfectly – talk about taking co-ordination to another level! xx

They say giving back is always in style. We couldn’t agree more!

As individuals who were taught the importance of giving back from an early age we are always on the lookout for ways to incorporate charity into our daily lives.

But as fashion bloggers we have to ask, what about being stylish whilst giving back? Is this even possible? Enter Barbas and Zacári.

An eyewear and watch brand established by two young entrepreneurial designers, Barbas and Zacári have a passion for minimalist style offering a range of contemporary and lust-worthy pieces all whilst supporting a good cause.

Having partnered up with The Cancer Research Foundation of Australia $5 AUD is donated to this worthy cause from every watch sold.

With their aim being to help out where they can whilst also highlighting the value of each individuals time spent here on earth, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to collaborate with this philanthropic brand.

We will be featuring our wonderful new watches in an upcoming post but to celebrate the last rays of summer we chose first to feature two pairs of sunglasses – the Kaimu and Mykonos, both which have been aptly named after the sun-kissed regions in Hawaii and Greece which inspired their designs.

Whilst both very different pieces we were thrilled with how easy they were to style. For Elizabeth we paired the Mykonos with a chic pink pant suit with its metallic sheen perfectly matching the reflective pink of the cateye frames and lenses. Anna on the other hand chose a simple black crop and wide leg pant to showcase the Kaimu. Their design somewhat reminiscent of Johns Lennons signature circular glasses they really lifted the outfit to the next level.

Although we are now reluctantly facing the reality of the ever fading warm weather we are excited to continue to rotate these beauties in our wardrobe.

So if you’re on the lookout for a way to update your style you can’t go wrong with a pair of sunglasses or a watch from Barbas and Zacári. Being the charitable fellas that they are Barbas and Zacári have provided us with a 20% discount code and free shipping for all our followers – simply input the code ‘FLORENCEANDFORTITUDE’ on checkout and you can also be stylish whilst giving back. Pajamas All Day

Wearing: Anna – Zara Shirt, Zara Denim,  The Mode Collective Heels & Elizabeth – Zara Shirt, Zara Denim, Verali Heels

We’ve had a crazy couple of weeks and shot these outfits after a week of very little sleep. When running on empty we gravitate towards wearing something that is simple yet uplifts the spirits – enter silk shirts. Thank goodness for the pajama trend still being well and truly alive as these Zara shirts let us feel like we hadn’t quite left the comfort of our bedrooms! We just needed to add our favourite type of denim and heels and voilà we were ready to take on the day!

Oh my kimono

Wearing: Anna – Attico ‘Kimono long Liza dress’, Kookai Bodysuit, Zara Jeans, The Mode Collective Heels & Elizabeth – Storets Shirt, Glassons Jeans, Christian Louboutin heels

We’ve been long time followers of Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio – if you’re not following them on instagram we highly recommend that you do for a dose of fabulous Italian street style inspiration! We couldn’t contain our excitement when we heard that they were launching a label…Attico. When their first collection dropped we were in absolute awe…the cuts, the insanely beautiful fabrics with subtly striking prints and embroidery and the decadence in the transformation of loungewear into luxewear just had us both trying to figure out how we could extend our salaries somehow to purchase the whole collection! Whilst purchasing all items was rather out of our reach, we couldn’t resist adding one of their incredible kimonos to our wardrobe. Its one of those pieces that will be a life long treasure and transform many moments into style memories. Huge admiration for both Tordini and Ambrosio in creating a label which celebrates dressing up in the everyday and injecting such glamour into items which wouldn’t conventionally be seen outside the home. They take girlboss to a whole new level!

What to pair however with such a statement kimono?! Elizabeth loves a white shirt and this Storets shirt channels an almost flamenco spirit in the voluminous sleeves. We loved it so much that we’ve purchased it in both a black and navy blue gingham which we will feature sometime soon.

Gently does it…
