This location….was everything! We have been waiting to shoot at the Auckland War Memorial Museum for such a long time, but have been struggling to find the perfect outfits to complement the drama of the building! On a fine August morning the serendipitous moment occurred and we found those outfits which did the building justice! The Museum holds special family significance for us both – both our Grandfather and Father proposed (successfully) to our Grandmother and Mother. If you haven’t visited this incredible feat of architecture in Auckland we highly recommend it just as much we recommend the phenomenal Acler label!
The silk and sleepwear trend is very of the moment, and whilst we don’t always follow trends we have to admit we are absolutely loving the ability to wear silk 24/7. The Acler matching silk top and wide legged pants were a dream to wear and the colour was exceptional! The navy Acler top had the most flattering v neckline and knotted detail at the waist. This top looks stunning on its own, however we wanted to add additional depth to the look by adding the fishnet Dolls Kill top underneath. The edgy top look contrasted against the vintage wide legged chiffon pants provided a certain drama to the whole look.
Returning to corporate work wear and an office with no sunlit columns has been a little difficult after this experience!

Day 2 of NZFW was a wet and windy day – not ideal for theoretically spring outfits! As always, we timed the Auckland traffic terribly and we’re running late to every show! But at the end of the day we were able to have a breather and take a few shots in front of an insanely beautiful gold gilded mirror. We loved the effect of the mirrors reflection which gave a bit of drama to our more casual day outfits.
We have always been huge fans of ASOS and the miraculous statement finds you can find on the site! One of those fab finds was the black knit dress which Elizabeth wore. The back of this dress was just so beautiful. This detail with the A-line shape of the dress had that girly feel with a hint of drama. Elizabeth paired the dress with ‘Kendall and Kylie” gladiator heels which provided a contrast to the femininity of the dress.
In our search for NZFW outfits we came across some incredible emerging designers – one of which was Anna K a designer from Kiev. The grid pearl top which Anna wore was one of our favourite pieces that she had the pleasure of wearing. Pearls, bows and grid work just made this top a standout. Anna was thinking of pairing it with a mesh turtleneck dress, but we tracked down a Glassons mesh top which just worked perfeclty with our new favourite ASOS jeans – the exact right amount of Mom in a jean! If you haven’t yet checked out Public Desire we so recommend it – Anna’s patent boots with a clear Perspex heel are such a standout and completed the outfit!
